Victorian Silver Plate Mounted Glass Claret Jug
A Victorian antique silver plate mounted glass claret jug. The glass is cut with a diagonal hobnail decoration with etched leaves also diagonally. The silver plated mount has a head of Bacchus below the pouring spout. Another figural head mounted on the handle. The handle is adorned with acanthus leaves at the top with grapes and vines. Ornately engraved around the mount and lid. The finial has a full figure of a lion holding a vacant shield. Sold in original plate. c.1880 British made.
