Silver Plated Egg Coddler or Boiler on Hoof Feet That Rises to Heads of Griffins
An antique silver plated egg coddler or boiler. Standing on three hoof feet that rises to realistic heads of griffins. The round base is engraved with an overlapping wavy design. The egg shaped body is engraved with swags of leaves and flowers with ribbons. The upper part with a geometric pattern. Retains its original egg holder and burner. Sold in original plate with very little wear. c.1880 British made with a makers mark for Robert Pringle & Co of London stamped underneath.
