Handsome Pair of Old Sheffield Plate Sauce Tureens
A handsome pair of Old Sheffield Plate sauce tureens. Each stands on four realistically modelled paw feet below acanthus leaves. Two elaborate handles on either side decorated with leaves scrolls and shells. Oval in shape gadroon mounted with shells on each corner. Matching key. Crested on the lid and body of a raised arm with the hand around a snake. Silver wire edge. c.1820 British made. These are sold in original super condition with slight copper showing on raised parts of the lid.
