Magnificent Old Sheffield Silver Plate Soup Tureen
A magnificent Old Sheffield Silver Plate soup tureen by Matthew Boulton c.1810. Standing on four robust elaborate realistic paw feet. Below each side handle are two large lions heads. The lid has an oval ridge embossing with a removable handle. The base of the handle also has lions heads either side. Mounted with bold gadroon and shells. A crest of a boar with an arrow through its mouth is engraved centrally to the front. This is sold in original condition. A small amount of copper is showing on the crest and on the raised part of the lid.
