This is a charming antique silver plated jam or preserve jar. This has a simple cylindrical glass with a star cut base. The mount is silver plated. The lid opens automatically by moving the handle down. c.1900 British made with a makers mark for Hukin & Heath stamped underneath the lid together with a patent number 5518 stamped on a button.
