An Old Sheffield Plate meat dome cover with its original well & tree warming base. The hot water base stands on four realistic paw feet with scrolls above. This has a side screw cap for filling it with hot water to heat up the base and to keep it warm. The oval cover is shaped with an elaborate removeable key. This handle is decorated with leaves and grapes to the base with branches for the handle. c.1830 British made. Sold in original condition with very little wear.
