This is an elaborate antique silver plated and glass claret jug. The glass has three panels of hob nail cut plus three panels etched with vines leaves and flowers. The ornate silver plated mount has a face of Bacchus at the spout together with a figural face by the handle, the curled handle is decorated with grapes and leaves. The mount is ornately engraved. This has been resilvered. c.1880 British made.
