Antique Silver Plated Egg Coddler or Boiler on Realistic Chicken Legs

An antique silver plated egg coddler or boiler. Standing on three realistic chicken legs with feet. Plain lower half and elaborately embossed upper of scrolls flowers and leaves around a vacant cartouche. Retains its original egg holder insert and burner, the finial is a model of a realistic swan. This has been replated. c.1880 British made with a makers mark stamped underneath.
