Handsome Old Sheffield Plate Meat Dome
This is a handsome Old Sheffield Plate meat dome cover with its original warming base. The base sits on four round feet that have a part fluted decoration. There is a twist cap where hot water is poured through to keep the base warm. It adorned with a gadrooned mount. There are two wooden handles with scroll ends. The cover has a fluted band around plus a part fluted top. The large handle is gadroon mounted to the base with a heart shaped handle. The armorial crests to the cover and base match. This is sold on original condition with very little wear. c.1840 British made with a makers mark for Padley, Parkin & Staniforth of Sheffield stamped under the cover.
